Jean Y. Sze 施逸清
Jean Y. Sze is a native of Shanghai, China. Now she resides in New Jersey. She is a composer and a zheng performer. She is the member of American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers and US Music Teachers National Association. Ms. Sze received bachelor degrees in music and chemistry from College of St. Elizabeth in NJ, and master degrees in music composition and polymer chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in VA. She studied music composition from Dr. Norman Lowrey, Dr. Victoria Bond, and Prof. Patrick Simpson. She plays zheng recitals in eastern part of The United States. Her compositions are performed by many music groups, including the concerts with Chen Yi, Zhou Long, Joel Thome and Victoria Bond. She was the music director of several choirs NJ, NY, and DE. She is listed in International Who’s Who of Composers (Cambridge, England) since 1999.
Before arriving in the US, she got a BM 1984 from Shanghai Music Conservatory where she studied zheng performance from Prof. Changyuan Wang. In 1983, she won second prize at Shanghai music competition.
Ms. Sze also teaches private students composing, music theory, sight singing and aural training, conducting, and zheng performance. Several of her composing students passed audition and entered conservatories like Julliard and Cincinnati.
施逸清，上海籍作曲家，古筝演奏家。现居住在新泽西州。 施逸清在新泽西伊丽莎白女子学院获得音乐，化学双学士，在弗吉尼亚理工及州立大学获得作曲与高分子化学双硕士。 她曾跟从Dr. Norman Lowrey, Dr. Victoria Bond and Prof. Patrick Simpson学习作曲。她在美东地区举行过多次古筝独奏音乐会。她的音乐作品曾被很多音乐团体演奏过。她曾与世界著名作曲家陈怡，周龙，Joel Thome, Victoria Bond 合作举办过作品音乐会。施逸清曾做过新泽西，纽约，和德拉华多个合唱团的指挥。她自1999年起被列入英国剑桥的世界作曲家名人录。
来美国之前，施逸清十八岁开始学习古筝演奏，1984年毕业于上海音乐学院，师从王昌元教授。 1983年她曾获得上海民族器乐比赛二等奖。
